World Hepatitis Day takes places every year on 28 July bringing the world together under a single theme to raise awareness of the global burden of viral hepatitis. touchINFECTIOUS DISEASES had the pleasure of speaking with Secretary General of EASL, Prof. Thomas Berg, (University Hospital Leipzig, Leipzig, Germany) to discuss the theme of this years World Hepatitis Day, ‘Hep Can’t Wait’, and what this message means for patients and treating physicians. Prof Berg also discusses EASL’s initiatives and strategies that are supporting the elimination of viral hepatitis and liver disease complications.
