It was a great pleasure to meet with Tomas Jelinek (The Berlin Center for Travel and Tropical Medicine, Berlin, Germany) to discuss chikungunya virus, its health burden and the unmet needs in its prevention and treatment. Chikungunya virus is spread to people by the bite of an infected mosquito. The most common symptoms of infection are fever and joint pain.
