It was a delight to be able to speak with Prof. Maria Paola Costi (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia Via Campi, Modena, Italy) about recent discoveries being made in the treatment of visceral leishmaniasis. Her talk entitled ‘Visceral leishmaniasis: the discovery & clinical landscape’ was presented at the ISNTD d3 2021 Virtual Congress, 24-25 February.
