As part of International Women’s Day, Dr Olivia Van Gerwen (The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Division of Infectious Diseases, Birmingham, AL, USA) one of touchINFECTIOUS DISEASES Editorial board members, joins us to discuss her impressive career highlights, and her own experiences of building her career alongside raising a family and overcoming a medical illness.
